Professor Hala Zreiqat
2016-2017 Radcliffe Fellow, Harvard University
Professor of Biomedical Engineering, University of Sydney, Australia

I would like to take this opportunity as this website goes live to acknowledge the support and sponsorship I have received during the establishment of the IDEAL Society network.

None of this would have been possible without the support of The University of Sydney and Harvard University. I would like to express a special thanks to The Faculty of Engineering and IT (University of Sydney) and to all the team at Harvard University in particular; my beloved Radcliffe Institute, SEAS (Prof Fawwazz Habbal, Prof Julie Lee, and Julie Bodden); to the team at IQSS led by Mercè Crosas and to Prof Alyssa Goodman.  My thanks also go to Prof Mark Elliott (Vice Provost for International Affairs), Prof Francis Doyle (Dean of SEAS) who were supportive of the idea when I first discussed it with them during my term at Radcliffe.  I am grateful for the continued support of Professor Judith Singer (Senior Vice Provost for the Faculty of Development and Diversity, Harvard University).

I am particularly thankful to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Sydney, Professor Michael Spence for his continuous support and for devoting the University of Sydney resources to help officially Launch the IDEAL Society network in 2018.

It is now up to all of us to take it to the next steps of joining and contributing to the growth of this Society. I am confident we will spread the Society globally and encourage more stories to be posted on the web (our stories), encourage more members (young and old, men and women) to join.
